SPSR Membership

Join the Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR) and become part of a professional community committed to promoting pharmaceutical education, scientific research, professional development, knowledge exchange and national and international collaboration.

SPSR offers Annual Membership, Student Life Membership and Life Membership for eligible students, academicians, researchers, pharmacists and professionals from pharmaceutical sciences, healthcare and allied disciplines.

All membership applications are subject to verification and approval by SPSR.

Important note: Membership discounts, awards eligibility, leadership opportunities and access to SPSR activities will be governed by the applicable SPSR guidelines. Membership does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, award selection or appointment to any SPSR committee.

Important Conditions

  • Student membership categories are available only to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Ph.D. scholars, research scholars and postdoctoral researchers must apply under the Annual Faculty/Professional or SPSR Life Membership category.
  • The Annual Faculty/Professional fee will be adjusted only when the membership is active.
  • Membership-fee adjustment will be permitted only once.
  • Publication discounts apply only to eligible publication charges and do not guarantee manuscript acceptance or publication.
  • Award eligibility does not guarantee selection.
  • Leadership, committee and chapter opportunities are subject to SPSR rules, eligibility and approval.
  • All memberships and upgrades are subject to document verification, payment confirmation and SPSR approval.

Upgrade from Annual Faculty/Professional Membership to Life Membership

An active Annual Faculty/Professional Member may upgrade to SPSR Life Membership by paying the applicable difference between the Life Membership fee and the Annual Membership fee already paid.

SPSR Life Membership Fee: ₹2,150
Annual Membership Fee Already Paid: ₹1,150
Balance Payable for Upgrade: ₹1,000

After successful payment and verification, the Annual Faculty/Professional Membership will be converted into SPSR Life Membership.

Conditions for Upgrade
  • The Annual Faculty/Professional Membership must be active on the date of the upgrade application.
  • The adjustment of the Annual Membership fee already paid will be allowed only once.
  • Expired Annual Membership cannot normally be adjusted against Life Membership.
  • The upgrade facility is non-transferable.
  • No cash refund will be issued for the Annual Membership fee.
  • The member must submit the existing membership number and payment details.
  • Life Membership will become effective only after payment verification and SPSR approval.
  • The Annual Membership Certificate will be replaced by a Life Membership Certificate.
  • SPSR may retain the same basic membership number with a Life Member prefix/category or issue a new Life Membership number.
  • The Life Membership fee applicable on the date of upgrade will be considered if SPSR revises the fee in future.
Validity Rule

An Annual Faculty/Professional Member may apply for conversion to Life Membership at any time before the expiry of the current Annual Membership.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for Student Membership?

Only students currently enrolled in recognized undergraduate or postgraduate programmes are eligible for Annual Student Membership or Student Life Membership.

Are Ph.D. scholars eligible for Student Membership?

No. Ph.D. scholars, research scholars and postdoctoral researchers must apply under the Annual Faculty/Professional Membership or Life Membership category.

How long is Student Life Membership valid?

It remains valid until completion of the undergraduate or postgraduate programme in which the applicant was enrolled when applying.

What happens after a Student Life Member completes the course?

The member can upgrade to regular Life Membership by submitting proof of course completion and paying the applicable balance amount of ₹1,000.

Can Student Life Membership be transferred?

No. Membership is personal and non-transferable.

When does SPSR Membership become active?

Membership becomes active only after SPSR verifies and approves the application, supporting documents and payment.

Will members receive a certificate?

Yes. An approved member will receive a unique membership ID and digital membership certificate.

Are all SPSR programmes free for members?

Not necessarily. Members may receive access or discounts according to the terms announced for each SPSR conference, webinar, workshop, publication or event.
